Cedar Point HalloWeekends 2026 is officially underway. Opening night gave us our first chance to experience the full event, including DIABLO: The Infernal Path.
Furthermore, Cedar Point HalloWeekends Diablo returns alongside other upgrades around the park.
DIABLO: The Infernal Path
DIABLO was easily the highlight of the night.
If you’ve played the Diablo games, this is a 10/10 haunted house. The attention to detail is fantastic, with impressive sets, animatronics, recognizable elements from the games, and a level of quality that makes the attraction feel much more ambitious than the house it replaced.
Even if you’ve never played Diablo, though, I’d still rate it at least a 7/10.
What really stands out is how the scares are handled. DIABLO isn’t a rapid-fire haunted house where actors jump at you every few seconds. Instead, each scare feels intentionally placed and timed.
I was second in line through the maze and still got hit with two or three genuinely good scares, even with someone directly in front of me.
That’s what impressed me most. The house gives its scenes time to breathe, then uses the actors when they’ll actually be effective.
DIABLO is easily one of the best additions to HalloWeekends this year.
Cut Throat Cove Takes the Top Spot
For the scare zones, Cut Throat Cove was our #1 on opening night.
The biggest reason was simply the number of scare actors. The area felt packed with characters, interactions, and scares, which made the whole zone feel alive.
Right behind it was essentially a tie between CornStalkers and the new Crystal Rock Massacre.
CornStalkers remains a HalloWeekends classic. The narrow pathways, darkness, and limited visibility still work incredibly well.
Crystal Rock Massacre, though, may have the highest potential.
The summer-camp slasher theme is great, and I could easily see it becoming our favorite scare zone once the season gets busier. Opening night was a Thursday, and it simply didn’t have quite as many actors as Cut Throat Cove.
With heavier staffing, Crystal Rock Massacre could absolutely take the #1 spot.
The Clowns Are Better This Year
The clown scare zone also feels improved.
Instead of spreading actors across a huge section of the Gemini Midway, Cedar Point has concentrated them into a smaller area and added obstacles that create more of an actual pathway.
That change makes the entire experience feel much more intentional.
Don’t Skip the Tombstone Territory Show
There’s also a small show across from Miss Keat’s in Frontier Town where the monsters are released into the area.
If you happen to see it starting while walking through Frontier Town, stop and watch.
It’s a fun little HalloWeekends moment and a cool way to introduce the scare actors into the area.
And the fog around Frontier Town on opening night was bountiful — which honestly made the whole area look even better.

Overall, HalloWeekends 2026 is off to a strong start.
DIABLO is the standout addition, especially for fans of the games, while several of the scare zones feel noticeably improved this season.
We’ll definitely be heading back later in the season to see how everything changes as crowds and scare-actor staffing increase.
