A Brand New Roller Coaster!
Cedar Point has released their first video detailing the construction progress for their next big attraction for 2025, Siren’s Curse! Cedar Point has named the Video series “Siren’s Curse Chronicles”.
Siren’s Curse will be the longest, tallest, and fastest Tilt Coaster in North America when it opens at 160 feet tall, 58 MPH, and a 2 min ride time.
Although those rollercoaster statistics won’t impress most roller coaster enthusiasts, the big attraction for this ride is the 90 degree tilt at the top of the lift hill. The train will stop and lock in place before tilting a full 90 degrees before sending Riders on a two minute journey!
The First Update!
Cedar Point posted their first video of the Siren’s Curse Chronicles this past week.
In this update, we got some great news and updates regarding the attraction, nearby attractions, and changes coming to the area of the park.
Ride Updates
For this episode, labeled “Base Layers”, construction progress shows a lot of work being done for the foundations with concrete. They also had to dig down to the bedrock of the lake for some of the tower foundations.
I plan on keeping on eye on the upcoming updates for details on the tunnel. This will be the first ride at Cedar Point going underground, so it will be interesting to see how they accomplish this since the Cedar Point Peninsula is essentially an island.
in addition to foundation work, track is being delivered and stored near the construction site.
Updates For Nearby Attractions
During the video, we did get an update for one existing attraction, Iron Dragon. In the above video, Cedar Point announced that the Iron dragon entrance will be moved and a new queue line added.
The queue line for Iron Dragon often went out to the Midway, blocking the walking the path. It will be interesting if they completely relocate the line entrance to prevent this from happening next year.
Updates to Nearby Amenities
One of favorite types of updates is when we get news of a bathroom update! The bathrooms near the Railroad Train entrance is getting an update during the construction of Siren’s Curse. Last year, we were surprised during the Top Thrill 2 Media Event to see that the Magnum bathrooms were updated!
In addition to the bathroom updates, changes are coming for the Celebration Stage! The Celebration stage is the Main entertainment stage for the park and hosts all the big shows, from Snoopy and the Gang for kids shows to Midnight’s Curse during HalloWeekends. The stage will be demolished as a part of construction, but we haven’t heard if it will be rebuilt in the same area, or somewhere else in the park.
