Cedar Point is known as the Roller Coaster Capital of the World, but there are plenty of exciting attractions for kids who have reached that all-important 42-inch height milestone. If your little thrill-seeker is ready for bigger adventures, here are the top five rides they’ll love at Cedar Point!

This is a weird height restriction, since all of these attractions require a supervising companion to ride these rides before they can ride alone at 48″ tall, so be prepared to join in on the fun as a parent! And remember, it’s one supervising companion per child under 48″.

1. Wild Mouse

One of Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster that opened in 2023, Wild Mouse is the perfect introduction to real coasters for kids over 42” tall. This spinning coaster offers unpredictable fun as each ride experience is unique, especially if you get a chance to ride the coveted “cheese” car! The cute mouse-shaped cars twist and turn along the track, but be prepared for an exhilarating ride! I’ve gotten some wicked spins on this ride, but my kids love it!

Pro tip – This ride is often on early park entry. Enter through the “wind seeker” gate during early park entry for a quick ride on this new attraction! There isn’t a fast lane, s I wouldn’t recommend waiting more than 45 minutes for this ride.

2. Pipe Scream

Is it a roller coaster? Is it a flat ride? Pipe Scream is the best of both worlds! This ride offers a unique thrill as it glides back and forth along a half-pipe track, spinning gently as it gains speed. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the feeling of airtime without the steep drops of a traditional coaster.

3. Matterhorn

A classic spinning ride, Matterhorn is a must-try for kids looking for a fun, whirling experience. With high speeds and centrifugal force pushing riders against their seats, it’s a fantastic step up from kiddie rides while still being a blast for the whole family.

4. Dodgem

What kid doesn’t love bumper cars? Dodgem lets kids take the wheel and navigate their way around the ride, bumping and swerving to their heart’s content. It’s a great way for kids to feel in control and have some competitive fun with friends and family.

5. Troika Troika Troika

For a smooth yet exciting ride, Troika Troika Troika is a fantastic choice. This spinning and lifting ride provides just the right mix of speed and motion, making it an enjoyable thrill without being too overwhelming for younger riders.

Final Thoughts

Cedar Point has something for everyone, and these five rides are perfect for kids who have outgrown the smaller attractions but aren’t quite ready for the towering roller coasters. Next time you visit, make sure to check these out and watch your child’s love for theme park thrills grow!
