Cedar Point is doing something new for Fourth of July in 2026.

Normally, Cedar Point’s Independence Day celebration is centered around fireworks, usually making July 4 one of the most popular days of the summer at the park. But this year, Cedar Point is going much bigger for America’s 250th birthday.

From June 29 through July 4, Cedar Point will host Star-Spangled Celebration presented by M&M’S, a brand-new event featuring patriotic entertainment, specialty food and drinks, aerial demonstrations, in-park activities, and a huge fireworks finale on the Fourth of July.

For families planning a Cedar Point visit around the holiday, this is one of those events you will want to plan ahead for.

What Is Star-Spangled Celebration?

Star-Spangled Celebration is Cedar Point’s new week-long Fourth of July event for 2026. Instead of only celebrating with fireworks for a night or two, Cedar Point is turning the holiday into a full park-wide celebration.

Throughout the week, guests are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue while enjoying special activities across the park. Cedar Point says guests can take part in events like the Stars, Stripes and Styles Costume ContestFlavors of Freedom Pie-Eating Contest, and Stars & Hypes Midway Games.

This should make the park feel extra festive all week long, especially for families who may not be visiting exactly on July 4 but still want to enjoy the holiday atmosphere.

Aerial Demonstrations Over Cedar Point

One of the most unique parts of the event kicks off on Monday, June 29.

Historic World War II aircraft flown by Lake Erie Warbirds are scheduled to fly above Cedar Point between 9 and 10 a.m. as part of the Flight of the Flags. Cedar Point says the aircraft will carry American flags belonging to service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Then on Saturday, July 4, skydivers from Deploy Events will perform aerial demonstrations above the park and beach. These demonstrations are scheduled for 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 8 p.m., with skydivers carrying a massive Star-Spangled Celebration flag down to the beach.

This is not something Cedar Point normally does for Fourth of July, and it makes the 2026 celebration feel like more than just a fireworks night.

Live Entertainment Throughout the Week

Cedar Point will also feature special entertainment during Star-Spangled Celebration.

Each morning, members of Cedar Point’s entertainment team will perform The Star-Spangled Banner near the Main Gate at 9 a.m.

On Wednesday, July 1, the 122nd Army Band of the Ohio Army National Guard will perform on the Main Midway Stage near the Sky Ride West station. Performances are scheduled for 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.

Then on Friday, July 3, the Cleveland Cavaliers Entertainment Team will bring even more energy to the park, including appearances from the 216Stix Drumline, Wine and Goldies Dance Team, and Cavs arena host Ahmaad Crump. They are scheduled to perform at 2:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., with additional surprise pop-ups around the park.

For families, this is great because it gives you more to do between rides, especially during a busy holiday week when ride lines may be longer than normal.

Specialty Food and Drinks

Cedar Point is also rolling out more than 10 specialty food and drink items just for Star-Spangled Celebration.

Some of the featured items include:

Cedar Point will also offer cocktails and mocktails, including an All-American Mocktail made with Sprite, blue popping boba, and cherry flavors served in a souvenir cup.

Limited-time food is always one of our favorite parts of Cedar Point events. The Crazy Shake and funnel cake sound like easy wins for kids, while the Firecracker Dog feels like one of those over-the-top theme park items that is fun to try at least once.

July 4 Fireworks: Light Up The Point

The biggest night of the event will be Saturday, July 4, when Cedar Point hosts Light Up The Point at 10 p.m.

The fireworks will be set to music and launched over Cedar Point Beach, giving guests one of the best fireworks backdrops in Ohio. Between the lake, the beach, and the Cedar Point skyline, it is hard to beat watching fireworks from the park.

That said, July 4 is almost guaranteed to be extremely busy.

With Cedar Point adding a full week of entertainment and celebrating America’s 250th birthday, I would expect the park to be packed on the Fourth of July. If the weather is good, this could be one of the busiest days of the entire season.

If you want a good beach spot for fireworks, do not wait until the last minute. I would plan to claim a spot on the beach at least 3 to 4 hours before the fireworks begin, especially if you are visiting with kids and want room to sit together.

Reserved Fireworks Seating

If you do not want to worry about finding a spot, Cedar Point is also offering a VIP Viewing Experience for the fireworks.

The package includes reserved seating on the beach, a Star-Spangled Snack Pack, a bottled beverage, and exclusive access to the Beach Bar.

For families, this could be worth considering. Fourth of July crowds can be stressful, and having a reserved viewing area could make the night much easier. If this is something you are interested in, I would check Cedar Point’s website early because reserved holiday seating always sell out.

Tips for Visiting Cedar Point on July 4

If you are planning to visit Cedar Point on July 4, here are a few things to keep in mind.

Arrive early. This is not the day to show up late and expect a busy park day.

Eat earlier than normal. Food lines can get long during major events, especially close to fireworks time.

If fireworks are your priority, grab a beach spot early.

Consider reserved seating if you want a less stressful experience.

Be patient leaving the park. After the fireworks, thousands of guests will be heading out at the same time. Either hang around or leave before it’s over.

For families with younger kids, this will likely be a long day. Plan breaks, bring what you need, and do not try to cram in every major coaster if your main goal is enjoying the event and fireworks.

Final Thoughts

Cedar Point’s Star-Spangled Celebration feels like a much bigger Fourth of July event than what the park normally offers.

Instead of just a fireworks night, Cedar Point is adding specialty food, live entertainment, military tributes, aerial demonstrations, and a full week of activities leading up to July 4.

For America’s 250th birthday, Cedar Point is clearly going all out.

If you are a Cedar Point fan, this could be one of the most memorable events of the 2026 season. Just make sure you plan ahead, especially if you are visiting on July 4. The park will likely be packed, the beach will fill up early, and the fireworks should be one of the biggest draws of the summer.

Star-Spangled Celebration runs June 29 through July 4 at Cedar Point and is included with park admission.
