We finally attended Cedar Point’s Winter Chill Out, and it was one of the most unique theme park experiences we’ve ever had. This annual charity event gives fans exclusive behind-the-scenes access to areas of the park that are normally off-limits — and Winter Chill Out 2026 did not disappoint.

A First-Time Winter Chill Out Experience
This was our first time attending after wanting to go for years. We secured an early morning tour slot and joined the GateKeeper group. Winter Chill Out benefits A Kid Again and raised over $120,000 this year, making it a fun event for an incredible cause.

Behind the Scenes Highlights
One of the coolest stops was the sign shop, where we saw Halloween props, ride signage, and more. We also explored ride maintenance and got up close to trains from Top Thrill 2, Millennium Force, Steel Vengeance, and Maverick.

Walking inside Maverick’s launch tunnel was a standout moment. Seeing the coaster up close gives you a whole new appreciation for how these rides operate.

We also toured the maintenance bay for Siren’s Curse, Cedar Point’s newest coaster. Getting underneath the train and seeing the seats removed for maintenance was fascinating.

Park Improvements for 2026
During the Q&A session, several updates were shared:
- Frontier Trail bathrooms are being renovated
- Starbucks locations in the park and Hotel Breakers are getting upgrades
- The Pagoda gift shop is being remodeled and connected to neighboring shops
- Veterans parking is expanding
- A week-long July 4th celebration is planned, ending with skydivers and fireworks
- Corkscrew celebrates its 50th anniversary with special merchandise
We also previewed brand-new 2026 merchandise, including anniversary gear and collectible coaster models.

A Fun Family Event
Even with a lot of walking, the event was a hit for me and my son. Our son especially loved getting up close to the trains and ringing the railroad bell. Heated indoor stops provided a nice break from the cold, making the experience comfortable and enjoyable.
Final Thoughts
Winter Chill Out is a must-do for Cedar Point fans. Between the exclusive access, early previews of park updates, and the chance to support charity, it’s one of the best off-season theme park events around. Tickets go fast every year, so make sure to be ready when the go on sale.
We’re already counting down to opening day and can’t wait to see everything come together for the 2026 season.
