For those who have never visited Carowinds before, this theme park celebrated their 50 year anniversary last year in 2024 and is currently owned and operated by its parent company, Cedar Fair. Check out our video from last year when they celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Cedar Fair, the parent company of Cedar Point, acquired Carowinds (and 4 other parks) from Paramount Parks in 2006.

Carowinds is located on the North and South Carolina state lines just outside of Charlotte. And one of their mottos is “Where the Carolina’s come together”!

This park is home to 60 attractions and a water park. The water park isn’t open yet and operates between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Of those sixty attractions, Carowinds has 14 Roller Coasters and a three-acre kids area, called Camp Snoopy.

The most popular roller coaster at Carowinds is Fury 325. This is biggest and fastest “giga” (over 300 feet tall but below 400 feet tall) roller coaster in the world at 325 feet tall and reaches speeds up to 95 MPH! Their newest roller coaster is a Double Launch coaster called Copperhead Strike.

There are a total of 25+ Kids/Family Rides at Carowinds and it is our favorite Camp Snoopy in the Cedar Fair chain of amusement parks.

We love this Camp Snoopy because of the awesome playground called Beagle Scout Acres. It’s a great place for the kids to run and blow off some steam after sitting in the stroller.

We also love their newest themed area, Aeronautica Landing. This area added a bunch of flat rides that kids over 42″ can ride when riding with an adult, a brews and bites pavilion, and a new restaurant and bar, Terminal A.

Unfortunately Terminal A is not on the Meal Plan, but they do accept Mobile Orders in the app and have some great drinks for those 21+.
